What is Zero Waste All About?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Zero Waste is a philosophy that encourages the redesign of resource life cycles so that all products are reused. The goal is for no trash to be sent to landfills or incinerators. The process recommended is one similar to the way that resources are reused in nature.

Let us be clear here – going all the way to zero waste is not easy and we are not there yet. It requires intense self discipline, preparedness, time and full on dedication to the cause. While we truly applaud those who have achieved zero waste nirvana, we realize that there are numerous points along the zero waste continuum and millions of ways to make an impact.

According to National Geographic, it is now believed that there are 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic debris in the ocean. It is clear to us that we can not go on with single use plastic, polluting our environment and endangering the other species that inhabit this earth with us.

We believe a massive collective impact can be made when all consumers make even small changes in their daily lives. And that’s why we founded BD Provisions. We offer eco-friendly solutions that are not conveniently available in most communities across the country.

We aim to help people reduce waste in their lives – whether it’s our reusable jars, compostable bags and containers or other products to help you live a more sustainable lifestyle. Are we perfect?  NO. But we’re trying our best to change our lives and the lives of our consumers, one scoop at a time.

“Getting to zero waste is like a race- you have to cross the starting line before you can think about the finish line.”
